LeadVaultBot
For shop owners and their web teams.
What it is
LeadVaultBot reads the public product pages of UK shops for LeadVault's OA bot, which helps Amazon sellers find products to buy from those shops. It looks at the product information a shop already publishes for search engines: the product's name, brand, barcode, price and whether it's in stock.
How it behaves
- It obeys your robots.txt, read again every day. A rule for "LeadVaultBot" wins over a rule for every robot.
- It reads one page of a shop at a time, never closer together than 8 seconds, or your Crawl-delay if that's longer (up to 120 seconds).
- It reads sale and offer pages and the products listed on them, never baskets, accounts or checkouts.
- If your site refuses it or says it's busy, it backs off for hours, then days.
- The same page is shared between everyone using LeadVault, so your site is read once, not once per person.
- It never logs in, fills in forms, places orders or reads personal details.
How to stop it
Add this to your robots.txt and it will stop within a day:
